WORK PARTY INFORMATION
Work Parties

Work Parties will be held from 5-7PM each Wednesday from April 7th to October 27th during 2021 and on the second Wednesday of each month during that period from 9-11 AM to accommodate those who are not available in the evenings.  Click on the title Work Parties for a list of dates and the Persons in Charge.

A special work party is called for March 27th (rain date 28th) at 10 AM to install water to the clubhouse.  Rain date is March 28th.

The board has instituted a number of ways you can complete the three work parties per year.  Note that work party attendance is not required, but any less than three will cost $20 each for next years registration.

Please consider letting us know your occupation or your expertise and whether you are able to use that expertise at a work party.  Let Smokey Burdin (724-396-9627 or email smokeyburdin@hotmail.com) or Ron Coiner (724-396-4971 or email ourisanews@gmail.com) know this information

How to Get Work Party Credit

Work party credit can be gained at our Open House (last Sunday in September) by bringing particular food items or a 2 hour session at one of the many jobs that are available.

Just show up at a schedule work party, stay the entire time, and sign work party sheets for work party credit.  There is some task for everyone, young and old. Click for a Copy of the Work Party Sign Up Sheet

For safety reasons single person work parties are not allowed to use personal or club owned equipment.  Since we have a number of members that like to come in and perform valuable work, we are developing a call list of members that can be contacted to be the safety monitor/helper when an individual wants to do a work party.   Thomas "Smokey" Burdin will be coordinating the list and it will be maintained in the front room in the club and on this page of the website.  We will publish the days of the week and hours as well as name and contact means  for the safety monitor/helper.  Currently our safety monitor/helpers are:

Smokey Burdin 724-396-9627 Mon thru Friday  9-5

Kevin Kennelty 724-640-0726 Anytime basically

Rich Boehm 724-953-4778

From time to time special work parties will be formed for specific jobs.  Come to this site to find out what is being planned.

For every 4 meetings a member attends they will be credited with 1 work party.  That means that you can complete your 3 work parties by attending all membership meetings held on the last Thursday of each month.  Sign in at the meetings and work party to get credit.  We would rather you roll up your sleeves and help out, but not everyone has a work schedule that will allow that, therefore we try to accommodate.

Members have the opportunity to earn a work party by monitoring the range at any time the ranges are open. Anyone wishing to participate can find the instructions and sign-in log inside the Club house

The club has voluntered to clean up Sandy Hill Road up to Route 130.  Most of the cleanup is on the North end  because home owners normally clean up their borders.  Anyone who would like to join a team to clean up along the sides of the road for work party credit please contact Jack Ruffner at 724-744-2514.

If you help with the County Fair Fishing Derby you get work party credit.

If you sell 10 Junior Rifle Club raffle tickets you get work party credit.

And, if you have physical situation that limit your ability to join a work party, etc. there might be other jobs that you can perform that would result in work party credit.  Contact our President to discuss alternatives.

If a work party leader cannot come when assigned, please contact one of the other officers to provide coverage.  Click on work party leaders for a schedule those assigned from April through October 2019.
